The Ultimate Gift from Switzerland

A souvenir should be more than a memory; it should be a legacy. At Jowissa, we combine our 75+ years of watchmaking history with the timeless beauty of Alpine tradition.

Swiss Made Watches: The Real Deal

There is no better souvenir than a genuine Swiss Made timepiece. Our signature Edelweiss watches feature:

  • Embroidered Straps: Genuine leather bands featuring the traditional Edelweiss floral embroidery, a nod to Swiss "Tracht" (folk wear).
  • Swiss Craftsmanship: Hand-assembled in Bettlach, Switzerland, ensuring the precision and quality the world expects from a Swiss watch.
  • Scratch-Resistant Glass: Finished with sapphire crystal or tempered mineral glass for enduring beauty.

Alpine-Inspired Jewelry: Complete the Look

Accessorize your Swiss watch with our exclusive line of Edelweiss jewelry. Designed in Switzerland to match our timepieces perfectly, these necklaces, earrings, and bracelets capture the sparkle of the Alps. Crafted from durable stainless steel and high-brilliance crystals, they offer a modern, elegant take on traditional folk charms.

The Legend of the Edelweiss

The "Queen of the Alps" connects both our watches and jewelry. Historically found only in dangerous, rocky heights, the Edelweiss flower is a symbol of courage and devotion.

  • For the Collector: A Jowissa Edelweiss watch is a piece of cultural history on your wrist.
  • For the Fashion Lover: Our jewelry adds a touch of "Oktoberfest Glamour" or Alpine chic to any outfit.

FAQ

What does "Swiss Made" actually mean?
A watch can only be labeled "Swiss Made" if it meets strict legal standards set by the Swiss government. It requires that the movement is Swiss, the movement is cased up in Switzerland, and at least 60% of the production costs of a watch taken as a whole must from Switzerland. At Jowissa, we proudly assemble our watches by hand in Bettlach, Switzerland, ensuring every timepiece meets these high standards of quality and precision.
Are quartz watches accurate?
Yes, quartz watches are known for "high accuracy." Because the quartz crystal vibrates at such a stable and high frequency, they are typically much more accurate than mechanical watches, often varying by only a few seconds per month.
How does a quartz watch work?
It works through a circuit: a battery sends electricity to a quartz crystal, causing it to oscillate (vibrate) 32,768 times per second. A microchip detects these vibrations and converts them into regular electric pulses (one per second). These pulses drive a stepping motor, which turns the gears and moves the watch hands.
On which wrist does a woman wear a watch?
According to etiquette, a woman should wear her watch on the left wrist if she is right-handed. This traditional rule places the watch on the non-dominant hand to prevent damage and scratches from daily tasks. However, modern fashion is flexible: many women choose the wrist that best complements their other jewelry. If you wear a heavy bracelet on your left hand, it is perfectly stylish and practical to wear your watch on the right wrist to balance your look and avoid scratching the timepiece.
